Meeting a Milwaukee Legend!
Show Categories
Today J.W. Speaker received an unexpected visit from former Milwaukee Brewers and hometown legend Robin Yount!
Drafted by the Brewers in 1973, Yount played in Milwaukee for 19 years, taking them to the World Series in 1982. In 1992, Yount had his 3,000th career hit, in 1999 he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and to this day he still holds most of the record highs for the Milwaukee Brewers. It’s not hard to see why we love him in Wisconsin!
The reason for Robin’s visit is that we’re celebrating J.W. Speaker’s 80th anniversary this year. We’re organizing an anniversary celebration in conjunction with a Lakeshore Chinooks baseball game and Yount is part of the Chinooks ownership group. We’re grateful that he stopped out and spent the morning with us.
While at the office, Yount took a tour with one of our owners, Tim Speaker, visiting with our office staff, checking out our Virtual Reality Lab, and walking the production floor.
Happy to learn about the company, Yount stopped to talk to our employees and even take a few selfies along the way.
Robin Yount and Tim Speaker look at one of the items on display in our Hall of Company History.
Here Robin took a break from the walking tour to meet some members of our Mold Department.
Tim Speaker explains to Robin how our Surface Mount Technology Department builds and tests state-of-the-art electrical components for our LED lights.
Robin learns about the logistics behind serving large OEM customers such as Harley-Davidson, John Deere, and Arctic Cat.
From all of us at J.W. Speaker, Thank you for stopping by today! It was a pleasure to meet our Milwaukee Brewer legend, Robin Yount.
