Position Available: Senior Quality Engineer
Show CategoriesThis position is open because our current incumbent is taking on a new role in our organization due to growth. This position is vital to the success of our production operations, helping to ensure we are exceeding the needs of our customers and providing outstanding, quality-made lights.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Our ideal candidate will start off with a Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or another Science-related equivalent. An ASQ certification as a CQE is preferred.
Additionally, our ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience, preferably with experience in the automotive, medical or aerospace industry. ISO 9000 standards knowledge is required. In addition, we prefer candidates who have familiarity with the following:
- Statistical analysis tools and software
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance Standards (GD&T)
- Metrology/CMM
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
You will EXPLORE:
- By facilitating continuous improvement efforts in all zones, including Molding, SMT, and Assembly. Assist in the identification, development, and implementation of effective quality control methodologies required to ensure process and product conformity
- By providing ongoing review, analysis, and reporting of key customer metrics, including PPM, Out-Of-Box failures, and warranty failures. Recommend improvement efforts based on trend data
- By supporting all production zones in continuous improvement including Kaizen events and corrective action efforts
You will INNOVATE:
- By developing, maintaining, and improving the J.W. Speaker quality requirements and standards, ensuring flow-down and compliance in all zones, including molding, SMT, and assembly
- By working with New Product Development, manufacturing engineering, and operations to ensure flawless new product launches
- By supporting Current Engineering in review and implementation of customer-specific requirements relating to product conformity, recommending methods to improve processes and products to better meet requirements
- By supporting manufacturing engineering in the development of Process Core Tools (Dynamic Control Plans) and mentoring and training key associates in their proper use
You will PERFORM:
- By ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (product-related), including participation in external agency audits, CoP Control Plan development and maintenance, record-keeping and follow-up where required
- By interfacing with OEM customers for product-related issues
- By managing, monitoring, and maintaining customer portal requirements including metrics, CCAR, and ECN
- By developing and maintaining direct relationships with customers regarding quality issues
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
- 10 years experience: Quality Engineering
