Ultimate Visibility

J.W. Speaker’s new infrared thermal imaging cameras are a powerful new way for drivers & operators to see clearly in total darkness. Typical headlights only let you see about 450 feet straight ahead, but our new cameras see heat not light, so you can see everything in front of you up to 1,800 feet!

This amazing technology lets you see clearly, night and day, in good weather and bad – giving you more time to react to hazards, avoid accidents and reduce wait times. Ultimately this helps to boost your profitability by reducing costs and increasing productivity.

See 4x Further Than Headlights!

With J.W. Speaker’s new models 9790 & 9791 you can see four times farther than you can with even the best headlights. As you can see below, even under ideal conditions headlights only let drivers see about 450 feet straight ahead and almost nothing to either side. Large vehicles like commercial trucks can take a long time to stop, so they easily outrun their headlights when driving at highway speeds.

Our thermal imaging cameras provide you with the necessary visibility to see pedestrians over 1,000 feet away, and vehicles even further – giving you more time to react, and more room to stop.

Virtually Indestructible

Perhaps the most unique feature that our thermal imaging cameras have to offer is their heavy-duty housing. Easy-to-mount, internally reinforced, and sealed to IP67, this product was specifically designed to withstand extreme environments.

There are many companies that make solid-performing cameras at competitive prices. What many customers have discovered, however, is that these cameras are not always very durable…but they are quite costly to replace. This is precisely why we developed the 9790 & 9791 to be the most durable thermal imaging product on the market.

Our philosophy is “If you’re willing to invest the money to utilize thermal imaging, you owe it to yourself to invest in a thermal imaging product that will last.” If you think there’s truth to that, we invite you to put our heavy-duty thermal imaging cameras to the test.

Easy to Install, Easy to Use

J.W. Speaker’s 9790 & 9791 thermal imaging cameras are sealed in a reinforced protective housing that easily installs onto almost any truck, earth mover, or commercial vehicle you can imagine. Most thermal imaging products are 12V only, but we’ve designed our products to work on 12-24V systems – which means you don’t have to worry about adding converters. Compared to other thermal imaging products that require complicated cavity mounting, our products are plug & play.

The black & white display is equally simple to mount inside your cab – not much different than the GPS displays everyone has nowadays. Once installed, the display becomes a natural checkpoint, just like your rearview mirror. A quick glance at the monitor can help you identify hazards you otherwise might not see in time to avoid.

Greater Safety = Greater Profits

In today’s high-cost world, a single accident can have a significant impact on your profitability. Insurance deductibles, equipment downtime, worker’s compensation and lawsuits can all add up rather quickly.

We understand that you want to protect your assets and maximize your profits using best-in-class safety equipment and programs to avoid costly accidents.

If the driver of this mining machine was using a thermal imaging camera, they would have been alerted that a truck was in their path.

Nighttime vehicle operation is more than twice as dangerous as driving during the day. Still, truckers, commercial operators, and RV drivers often find themselves behind the wheel at night.

The problem is that headlights only show you a small part of the road in front of your vehicle; they can’t help you see pedestrians or vehicles beyond their limited range, or on either side of the road.

The solution is to provide drivers with greater visibility so that they have more time to react. More time to react means more options, smoother driving in emergencies, and more room to stop. When you think about it, time is critical in helping you to avoid traffic accidents.

J.W. Speaker’s new 9790 & 9791 infrared thermal imaging cameras enable you to see pedestrians, cars, animals, and virtually any other hazard from farther away and from either side of the road – granting you precisely what you need to avoid costly accidents – time.

How Does It Work?

With our eyes, we see visible light. With a thermal imaging camera, we see heat.

Thermal imaging cameras detect subtle differences in temperature and display them as black and white TV video: warmer objects appear light and cooler objects appear dark.

Thermal imaging cameras usually see an object’s heat from much farther away than you can see the same object with your eyes – especially in the dark or extreme environments like rain, snow, dust, fog or smoke.

Thermal imagers make pictures by detecting and displaying differences in heat. This energy is invisible to the naked eye, but not the thermal imaging camera. Notice how the ice in the girl’s left hand appears completely black.

The differences in heat don’t have to be very big for a thermal imaging camera to see them clearly either. Notice how the slightest friction from the girl’s finger and the heat from her hand left enough heat on the wall to show up clearly to the thermal imaging camera.

Just imagine how much more heat vehicles, people, and animals give off!
