Shipping Associate - 2nd Shift

Daily Execution:

  • Unload/Load trucks utilizing forklifts and standups
  • Process parts thru the drop zone
  • Prepare product for shipment to customer – consolidate, label, wrap
  • Perform appropriate transactions in Syteline
  • Pick orders from finished goods and distribution markets
  • Validate on-hand finished goods to daily ship requirements
  • Serve as a flexible resource to other materials areas: line material handler, receiving, order picking
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and notify carriers, call dispatchers, enter information as needed

Process Support:

  • Process RMAs to vendors
  • Facilitate expedited shipments

Continuous Improvement:

  • Surface problems utilizing the problem consciousness board
  • Identify and solve problems utilizing the Just Do It board
  • Follow 5S standards everywhere – including cafeteria, bathrooms, parking lot, etc…
  • Follow all safety rules and requirements

Qualified candidates will have previous shipping experience (3-5 years minimum), intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel and experience working in an ERP system is preferred. Previous forklift experience a must.

Job duties for this position will consist of the following priorities:

New Product Development Testing:

  • Perform all mechanical and electrical testing for new products
  • Create accurate and detailed test reports for internal and external distribution
  • Review results and draw conclusions on mechanical, and electrical product testing
  • Maintain test reports and data in the testing database and improves database structure as required
  • Create and maintain a test schedule to ensure testing in completed when required
  • Manage day to day activities and priorities of mechanical and electronic test labs
  • Research and procure new mechanical and electronic test and measurement equipment for labs as required
  • Maintain and provide technical direction on customer, regulatory and industry technical requirements
  • Ensure that tests are run in strict compliance with the appropriate standard or specification
  • Monitor testing and prototyping technologies and provide input to strategy development

New Product Development Support/Staff Development:

  • Provide accurate and detailed feedback to engineers in a timely fashion in regards to testing results
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting or failure resolution of tests
  • Re-adjust test schedule in the event of failures or other delays to minimize downtime
  • Review test reports from other test personnel for accuracy, content and format
  • Develop and coach team members on NPD process and tools

Lab Maintenance and Improvement:

  • Maintain and acquire equipment to ensure consistent and accurate results
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements for the company, lab, equipment, processes and tools
  • Manage the proper utilization, procurement, maintenance, and calibration of test facilities and all engineering test equipment in all test labs
  • Develop systems and methods to improve lab efficiencies

Qualified candidates MUST have detailed working knowledge of vibration and vibration testing methods, with a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience and 3 years experience working in regulatory or test lab.  Additionally, candidates must have intermediate experience working in MS Word and Excel, and Access experience is preferred.

  • 15+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • ISO 9001 and/or TS16949 experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, successfully leading a group of direct reports
  • Strong background working collaboratively with NPD groups, providing guidance and support
  • Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written), with a customer-service mindset
  • Experience working within and driving a sophisticated QMS
