AT J.W. SPEAKER CORPORATION

Along with our ability to custom design innovative lighting systems, we provide a wide range of in-house capabilities to enhance the process and complete the job.

For questions regarding our capabilities, please contact us.

VIRTUAL REALITY
Our custom-designed Virtual Reality software allows us to input varying customer parameters for lighting.  These include relative placement on the vehicle, and any bulb, LED or light source option in an existing light or a design-concept light.  The program then generates optical predictions for intensity, pattern and gradation.  Reviews are done in real time and immediately display the effects of adjustments made.  Customers are able to precisely define lighting expectations and performance characteristics without expending additional time or the cost of prototypes.  Once the specifications are defined, data is directly downloaded to lighting design and application software again saving on prototypes until our customer is confident the lighting will perform as needed.  In fact, our Virtual Reality software has shown greater than 95% correlation to the final production-run parts.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Our engineers evaluate your lighting concepts to find cost-saving and value-added potential. We utilize Pro-Engineering (Pro-E) models for finite element analysis. This model is checked against your equipment designs to ensure accuracy.
IN-HOUSE MODELING
Upon approval, our Pro-E models can be used to create Stereolithography (SLA) prototypes to verify fit. If more prototypes are required, cast-urethane models can be created from the initial SLA.
OPTICAL ENGINEERING
The needs of your application determine the pattern and intensity of the lighting design. We use advanced optical-design software such as Light Tools™ to analyze optical designs that adhere to industry requirements.

CIRCUIT DESIGN & MANUFACTURE
We design analog and digital circuitry to support all lighting technologies (LED, HID, etc.) and I/O devices as well as controllers, converters, etc.  Our in-house Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment produces many of the electronic boards used in our products giving us higher quality control, greater flexibility, and shortened lead times.

PHOTOMETRIC TESTING
Light patterns and output are tested in our state-of-the-art photometric lab to ensure compliance to ECE, UL, DOT, SAE and ASAE regulations. These requirements are confirmed before manufacturing begins. Bulbs are calibrated to conform to exact design specifications.
SAE/ECE CERTIFIED LABS
J. W. Speaker performs environmental testing to meet the industry requirements of our customers. This includes vibration, shock, salt spray and other tests. Automated programs initiate the tests and record the results.
MOLDING
Our molding department employs injection-molding technology with robotic assistance.
ASSEMBLY
Operations include stamping, wire harness and adhesive capabilities. Working with your other parts suppliers, we can deliver value-added sub-assemblies to simplify your production.
